  Reference List
The scientific and mathematical basis of BAC Tracker software is attributable to the work of a number of reputable scientists since 1932.  Click here for a full reference list.

  **Important Note**
BAC Tracker software provides BAC estimates only and should not be used to predict the actual BAC while someone is drinking.  Only certified blood or breath tests can accurately predict BAC.

BAC Tracker...the most comprehensive estimation of blood alcohol concentration: Widmark; Watson, et al.; Forrest; Seidl; Ulrich, et al.

BAC Tracker software is a computer analysis program that allows for the most comprehensive estimation of blood alcohol concentration (BAC) from six scientific formulae published between 1932 and 2007.  BAC Tracker  is the most advanced software in the industry of conducting blood alcohol extrapolations employing the latest scientific data for more accurate and balanced results in the court room.  BAC Tracker was developed by professionals currently employed in the forensic sciences and was originally created for forensic toxicologists to use as a simpler and more comprehensive tool for retro- and antero-grade BAC extrapolations, but its simplicity and user friendly nature, available in either a United States version or International (UK) version, provides an invaluable resource for attorney’s offices, educational institutions, and other forensic laboratories as well.

Three separate types of extrapolation reports (forty-two individual reports) can be generated within minutes by BAC Tracker which are derived from a number of different published algorithms.  Data input requires only the individual’s gender, age, weight, height, and either the number of drinks and rate of consumption during the scenario or a BAC/BrAC reading at any time in the scenario. The software will automatically run the data against six different formulae which take into account the individual’s gender, age, weight, height, body mass index, percent body fat, water content in blood, water content in fat-free body mass, total body water, two non-linear rates of absorption, and three separate rates of elimination. Further data manipulation can be applied to both the rate of absorption, either depending on the type and quantity of food in the stomach or other factors affecting gastric motility, and the rate of elimination by applying broad or narrow ranges to account for inter- and intra-individual variations in the human population.

BAC Tracker further allows users to:

bullet Track the BAC of a subject over a course of ten hours while consuming up to ten separate ingestions of alcohol of varying concentrations and volumes (up to 150 individual drinks).
bullet Track the absorption rate of alcohol into the bloodstream after a specified type of meal has been consumed.
bullet Track the percentage of alcohol that has been absorbed into the bloodstream of a subject at any specified time since an ingestion of alcohol.
bullet Track the percentage of alcohol absorbed into the bloodstream of a subject automatically at six minute intervals immediately following an ingestion of alcohol.
bullet Track the BAC of a subject at any specified time following a single ingestion of alcohol.
bullet Track the BAC of a subject at six minute intervals immediately following an ingestion of alcohol.
bullet Calculate the number of drinks consumed by a subject at any time prior to testing the present BAC level of a subject.
bullet Calculate the mass of alcohol (grams) consumed by a subject at any time prior to testing the present BAC level of a subject.
bullet Compare the results of each of the six formulae not only on a single graph together, but also graphed separately on individual reports.
bullet Compare the uncertainties inherent in the rates of alcohol absorption and elimination.
bullet Generate a total of three separate report types for a total of forty-two different individual reports.
